Merino Progress Association “Merino Creek Walking Trail”

The walking trail was officially opened in February 2008 and continues to receive very positive acknowledgment to the Portland Eco Trust from the Merino community.  Improved access, removal of weeds and noxious flora have allowed access to this delightful part of Merino.  The trust is indebted to local contributors for their support and the community spirit shown......this project includes the establishment of a walking track and re-vegetation along the Merino Creek.

The Merino Creek is a major feature in the town and will revitalize and maximize the benefit of the environmental attraction. The works will be undertaken by the volunteers in the Merino community in partnership with the Small Towns Development Fund and the Glenelg Shire Council.  A donation of $1,000 was donated for this project.
